A press conference held this morning at the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute at St. Michael’s Hospital – appropriately held on National Child Day – marked the launch of the Healthy Life Trajectories Initiative (HeLTI). This initiative is designed to promote the health of children and their growth and development into healthy adults through effective health policies and programs. Canadian investigators will partner with researchers in four different countries (Canada, India, China, and South Africa) to study sample populations and investigate the effectiveness of interventions designed to reduce the prevalence of non-communicable diseases.
